Nordlys® Multi‑Platform

Multi-application IPL & non-ablative fractional for tone, texture, and vascular lesions.

A hybrid platform: intense pulsed light for pigment and redness, a non-ablative fractional laser for collagen and texture. Used alone, or layered with PicoWay across a multi-session course.

How a session goes

Three passes, one session.

  1. Consultation & mapping

We agree on what bothers you, photograph it, and choose the IPL filter and fractional parameters together.

    10 – 15 min
  2. IPL pass

Intense pulsed light across the treated area. You see bright flashes through opaque goggles; a cooling tip keeps the surface comfortable.

    15 – 25 min
  3. Frax pass

The non-ablative fractional laser, layered on top. Warm, prickly, not sharp. Typically 10–20 minutes depending on area.

    10 – 20 min
  4. Soothe & brief

Cold mask, printed aftercare, 48-hour direct line.

    5 min

Nordlys is a workhorse, not a magic wand. For redness it is the best thing I have; for wrinkles it helps, but if wrinkles are the main concern, other lasers do more in fewer sessions. I will tell you in the consultation which one fits you.

Aftercare

Pink for 48 hours, then normal.

The skin will be pink and slightly warm for 24–48 hours. Small darker spots may appear over treated pigmentation — they shed within a week. Fractional patterns may be visible under close inspection for 2–3 days.

Do

  • Use SPF 50+ every morning, without skipping.
  • Apply a gentle moisturiser twice daily.
  • Drink water, sleep well. It matters.
  • Let dark spots shed naturally — they will.

Don't

  • Pick at shedding pigment or fractional scabs.
  • Use retinoids or acids for 10 days.
  • Expose treated skin to direct sun or saunas for 7 days.
  • Return for a second session before the skin has fully returned to baseline.
FAQ

Common questions.

Will it leave a mark?

Pigmented spots will look darker — almost coffee-coloured — for 5 to 10 days, then flake off. That is the spot lifting, not damage. Vascular work on capillaries or redness sometimes leaves a small bruise that fades inside a week.

Can I wear makeup the same day?

Light, mineral makeup after 24 hours is fine. The skin will feel slightly warm and pink for the first evening — leave it alone until the next morning.

Will rosacea come back?

Eventually, yes. Rosacea is a chronic vascular tendency, not a stain you wipe off. Two to three sessions clear visible flushing; a maintenance session every 12 to 18 months keeps it quiet. Anyone promising a permanent cure is selling.

Is it safe on darker skin?

With the right wavelength, yes — Nordlys runs from Fitzpatrick I to IV with care. Above type IV I prefer PicoWay or RF Microneedling. I will tell you straight if your skin is in the wrong tool's range.

How many sessions for visible results?

Rosacea or capillaries: 2 to 3. Sun damage: 2 to 4. Combined photo-rejuvenation: 3 to 5, spaced 4 weeks apart. You'll see the first change after the first session, but the durable result builds across the series.
